Thought things were looking up for me started a new job I like back in January, got a raise this week things were going good and then on my way to work this morning BAM transmission goes in my truck and I'm stuck on the side of the road. Good thing I got a raise because now I need a new truck.

Oh the trans is shot it's been slipping. The truck had a good run. I paid 400 for it over a year ago. I've put a bit into it but not to much and I've put 60k on it over the year lots of driving and memories I drove it into the ground I can't be to upset.

$400 is what, about one truck payment?  I'd say you did pretty good for yourself.

$400 for a truck and the tranny blows. I wouldn't call that bad luck but inevitability.

I'm all for cheap cars my last two cars were less than 2k last one went 6 years this one is on its second and going strong. Look for granny's old car man. Usually the family just wants to get rod of it.

I paid 400 for it then put 200 for lock out hubs, 400 for brakes all around, inspection, exhaust work, then 40 for a tie rod, 400 for an alternator and towing, 300 when my drive shaft went, 5 or some JB weld to fix my leaking oil pan.

It's put 60k on it in mileage and hit 3 deer with it so I've got my money's worth. I'm pulling all my new parts before I scrap it.

Could be inhaling fly ash every day. Fly ash is the by products from coal burning that are filtered out before the smoke is allowed to leave the stacks. Its filled with all kinds of great things. Organic arsenic, lead, mercury, and other fun stuff. Its the reason most boiler makers don't live too long.

Don't feel to bad ,my friend, at 27 you still have time. It's not likely that I'll live for another 66 years.
