Hey guys. I am looking to buy a Pro qualifier rain suit from BPS. I was just looking for opinions on the sizing since they don't list any info on their site. I want to get the lighter ones rather than the 100MPH ones to wear in the summer but want to be able to layer in the winter. I know the concensus answer will be to try them on but the nearest store is about two hours from me, not to mention they may not stock what I need. I am 6' 190 36x32 pants. I think I can get away with a large but layering concerns me. Thanks for any help guys.

Quality rain suits are enough of an investment that, in my opinion there isn't any option other than going to a store where they are available and trying them on.  You wouldn't spend money on a dress suit without getting it tailored.   By the same token, you probably shouldn't spend money on a decent gore tex rain suit without trying it on.   Different suits fit differently.   If you've got to get it on-line or through a catalog, be prepared to deal with shipping it back.  If it is a long trip, call first and see what is in stock.  It will be worth your time in the long run.

I am 6'1" 225 and wear a 36 x 34 jeans. I wear XL shirts. I opted for a 2XL because I knew I would be wearing them over my clothes and sometimes that would mean a sweatshirt or something larger when it is cold. I am glad I went with the bigger size.

Yup....get em a tad bigger....much nicer wearing when it's cold or wet.

A little bigger is always better especially if you're gonna layer.

It also gives more room for casting, sitting etc.

My experience is that they do run a little larger for the size thats marked, but every manufacturer will cut thiers a little different.

If you dont want to drive to try them on and you normally wear a large sized winter jacket, start there.

But you may have to send it back and pay shipping but at least you'd have a starting point.

Making assumptions doesn't always work out well. That being said, Cabelas has a sizing chart online, for their guidewear, which is accurate. At least it was for my fatass. Maybe check out their sizing chart and compare it to the BPS sizes
