Went fishing to day took a buddy that has no were near the experience that I do I'm not saying I great but sure could but a fish in the boat but no luck after I watched my buddy put a 7 a 5 and a 4 pounder in the boat witch is great for 45 degree water I stand frustrated and confused fishing conditions were 45 degree water 10 to 14 mile winds and mostly cloudy we were fishing in 35 to 50 foot of water were the tops of trees sick out of the water I figured it would be good bc the fish cold up and down as the day got hoter

Second, you seem to be a very young guy (in middle school by the looks of your above post) so don't be too concerned. What happened to you happens to all of us and it will happen to you again.

 

At 45* the bass are still staging deep, making runs to shallow waters to feed during the day and seeking some warmer water.

 

Winds can help attracting the bass with spinnerbaits or crankbaits. What was your friend throwing?

 

Deep water with trees will hold bass at a specific level. Seems your friend found the right level and you did not.

 

So let us know where you are; what you and your friend were throwing; and what techniques you were using and we can give you more input.

I'm actually 27 and I'm very interested in figuring out our gilled friend and thank for all the post you helped me on other question and I was fishing Randleman lake I was throwing a thumper spinerbait slow rolling with small pauses had a lot of luck this way

I think you also figured it out.  Your buddy lucked out with his depth and probably placed the bait in the bass' face.

 

Try to find the bass and bait fish on your sonar unit and you should have better luck.
