Anyone use these yet?  I got a few in the winter and got my first shot to throw it this past weekend.  Those suckers can walk like crazy! only got a few casts in before some thunder and lightning came in. Just curious if anyone has had any success with them yet.

I caught a few off them at the end of last year. It took me a little bit to walk it. I prefer the regular bronze eye

I absolutely love these, the Spooky Shad color was getting wrecked on my local lakes late last year. I like these much better for weed edges and any type of hard cover (docks, laydowns, etc) as they will "glide" more than any other frog style bait I've tried and that long slow side to side gliding has produced great for me. They aren't nearly as effective over mats or in really thick grass as the Bronzeye frog though, they roll onto their sides therefore the hooks snag and pick up way to much moss and grass.

 

Overall though these things are great, IMHO of course.

I was planning on using them more in open water or lay downs more than in the heavier cover.  It is so easy to walk. Cant wait to actually fish it! Only got 3 casts with it before lightning lit up the sky

That's why I haven't picked one up yet and have just stuck with the regular bronzeyes.  Lots of reviews saying the shads take on water really fast.  Haven't had any problems with the regular ones though, so I'll just stick with them for now.  

I only got to use them a little bit towards the end of last year. I caught a few on it and it looks like it's going to be a good bait. It's got a really nice gliding action and is different than most frog style baits.

I don't remember mine taking on that much water, but it does sit a lot lower in the water than a normal frog.

All my bronzeye frogs seem to take up water, but it doesnt bother me too much.  Ive had a lot of luck with them. I really like how well it walks.

I think yours is fine, all mine take on water faster than I'd like them to but it's not nearly bothersome enough to stop fishing them. Mine seem to be fine until I catch the first fish on them then that's when they really start to need a good squeeze about every other cast.
