Howdy folks - I just picked up a beautiful example of one of these, and I want to do a strip down/clean/lube; my question concerns the Comp Clutch/Brake Blocks found on the handle side of the line spool. I'm trying to get at one of the spool bearings behind this assembly, and the Clutch/Brakes (one piece) seem to be pressed onto the spool tightly - I couldn't budge it with light fingernail pressure and I don't want to break it by being bone-headed, so tell me - does it just pry loose? It looks like it's never been removed...

I use a small slot driver and lightly lift under the two black engagment tab pins on all of the rounds we have been upgrading/servicing. It will come off (slowly but surely), just make sure you replace it in the same place...

Yup, they come off just hard enough to make you second guess yourself. R.M.'s suggestion is right on.
