Help With Missing Brake Pins

Featured Replies

I bought a used H2O menace, which I like, but two of the brakes were removed. The pins are there, just not the part you push in or out. Anyone have any extra or have an idea of what to use instead? Thanks.

Contact the manufacturer and get the oem replacement parts. they should also have a schematic as well.

I tried the manufacturer today, but they can't supply parts on used products. Then she told me they dont have those parts for the menace or mettle because they are discontinued, and my best bet would be to go into the store and ask if they had one. Of course I am not near a store.

I you find an old Pinnacle reel you could probably swap brake parts between them.  Do you really need these two brakes?  Two cent brakes turned on out of 6 is usually the sweet spot on most reels.

I actually have two in on my other reel. I need to experiment with that one and see how it feels to push one brake in and remove one totally.

Alone, I really appreciate the offer, can anyone that owned both a shimano and H2O reel confirm that they are interchangeable?

She couldn't cross reference the parts from a newer reel by matching up the part numbers. Quantum did that for me.

I found two awesome service ladies who know there products that won me over. It's quantum reels and Bushnell scopes. Bushnell saved me lots of money by cross referencing the special screws I lost. There's a gal in Maine at Wal-Mart that talked about guns with me too. I love talking with knowledgeable people who are educated on there product line. These longtime employees know what there talking about while others just want us to go away.

This ^.

Those brakes are the same on all of the old Pinnacle reels. (and all the reels they made for BPS, Cabelas, Pflueger, Browning, DSG, Academy, etc).  I own the same reel with 6 different names, and the spools, and most other parts (and sometimes side plate) are interchangeable.
