Lipless Crankbaits

Featured Replies

Does anyone else catch panfish on lipless crankbaits? Like perch if so what brand do you use, what color, and what size? Also what brand for striped bass

Never really use them to target panfish.  I did by chance get my PB crappie with a 1/2 RES chrome blue

Not so much lipless for me. But I've caught some enormous crappie and bluegill on a squarebill this year. Strike King KVD 1.0 Chart Black Back.

I've seen perch and crappie caught on all sorts of treble hooked lures however it's probably not ideal.

While fishing for bass, I have caught panfish, muskie, and an occasional turtle on rat-l-traps.

I've caught plenty of bluegill and crappie on the 1/8 oz. Tiny Traps in chrome/blue back. Lots of trout also.

I am up to 10 different species of fish on a lipless crankbaits from bluegills to saltwater stripers. 1/4oz, 1/2oz and 3/4oz will cover all applications.

I've used the smaller one's to pound white bass from time to time. Shad colored or chrome.

Cotton Cordell Super Spot, 3/16 oz. in Fire Tiger, is the one lipless crank that every species around me can agree upon.  Don't know about specifically targeting perch, but crappie and bluegill routinely take a swing at it.
