The downside of having a "secret" go-to bait...

I guess I should've told more of the locals about my favorite soft plastics. They were apparently not a big seller so the local BPS has stopped carrying them.

Now I'm going to have to either pay for shipping or find a replacement.

Talk to customer service at BPS, if you are referring to a store and they will order them in for you and there is no shipping charges and they usually have them 2-3 days.

I don't think I would be as upset about it if I had known beforehand they were going to stop carrying them. Instead, they put the remaining inventory on clearance for $1.69 a pack, and some low-life(s) bought up all of the good ones.  ;D

I feel your pain, everytime I find a bait I really like it seems like the local BPS or Cabela's will stop carrying them shortly after.

The real downside is that you throw it even when you should throw something else. I'm very guilty of this. I throw a Rage Craw way too much, LOL.

I was unaware you could throw a Rage Craw too much... ;D

Actually I'm a spinnerbait and shakyhead kinda guy, and but my go-to bait is a 4" ring worm.  I'll throw other stuff, but that little ring worm rarely fails to get a bite.

Stasher1 how do you like to rig it ? I've done well fishing it in the past on a Mojo Rig though for whatever reason haven't thrown it much the last few years.

This is what I've been using...

Green sunfish color, t-rigged with a 2/0 offset hook and an 1/8 oz tungsten weight. Hopped/twitched on the bottom, it's been productive on every body of water I've fished in the past 2-3 years.

Haha it has gotten me a few times. Company's seem to drop the older lures for new flashier styles. Its sad when the older lures work just fine

This is so true. Have (had) a great go to lure and both of my kids favorite lure to throw made by Zoom that was discontinued. Thank goodness I realized it in time when I tried to order through bps. I was able to find 32 pks on 2 other websites and bought them all. (sorry guys) if you have a "go to" keep up on them and look them up on every new catalog so if they are discontinued you have a chance to snag some.
