Featured Replies

What is your all around favorite go to crank? Which crank do you usually start with or fall back on when other techniques arent working?

Last year was Storm Big Bass square bill texas craw color for shallow water and Normans D22 for deep.

This year i will probably still throw those but i'm also going to try the Strike King 4s square bill for shallow and Strike King 6xd for deep.

For some reason those SK's have really caught my eye, i sure hope they catch the fishes too!! ;D ;D

Cranks are one lure that I really dont have a Go-To because they are so much different across the board.  For right now, my crank of choice is a Rattle Trap, but once spring is over that will change.

Fat Free Shad in Pearl Shad

early on.. i really like my shallow diving Storm WIggle Wart in Bluegill color...

Another one is as old shad rap with the weird bill

Daiwa peanut, or Bandit 100 series.

Depending on where the fish are located, either a deep little N or dd22 in Chart. Blue :)

Don't have a go-to for shallow - but for mid-depths it's the Wiggle Wart, deeper it's the Luhr-Jensen Hot Lips Express.

dont shoot the messenger.....  red eye shad!

I am cheap and do not buy the expensive baits.  Chances are I am going to lose them one way or another anyway.  I do like the BPS Lazer Eye Nitro Extreme The Egg in chrome shad.  It is a shallow running crankbait and seems to really work great for me.

My best producers are the Norman Middle N (pearl w/ purple flake) and Strike King Series 3 & 4 (Sexy Shad)

DD22 for me as well. Just a fantastic crank. It always seems to produce for me.

I also really like the H2O square bill cranks.

I like the Egg as well as the Strike King 1XS shallow diving cranks. These were my most productive cranks fished over the tops of weedbeds.

Megabass Deep-X 300 for me.

Like I stated in a previous, similar post, my holy grail of cranks is my hand signed Fred C Young Big-O Crank. I have never caught a bass below 3 pounds with it. Its my favorite and if I ever lost it to a tree i would cry. legit.

Wait no i wouldn't, I'm on the Sheen.

hey what about a chain saw.  Tree cant stand it

Xcalibur XR50 in Foxy Momma or Lucky Craft RC 2 in American Shad.

The Rapala DT Flat 3 is close on their heels, even though they haven't been on the market for very long.  Honorable mention goes to the Cordell Super Spot with upgraded hooks.

This might sound ridiculous but an old school original bomber A in tenessee shad.

I throw just about evevry brand, but when all else fails, that model and color seems to get one in the boat.
