Problems With Elastztech And Other Plastic Baits?

Featured Replies

  • Super User

So I had a thread about ElastZtech and Strike King Ragetail Toads. Someone said something about ElastZtech and melting other baits. I'm assuming it has to do with some type of chemical reaction.

I normally put my used plastics that can still be used again together in a flat plastic tacklebox. If I put an ElastZtech bait with these would it melt them or melt the tacklebox?

What are the problems with ElastZtech and what should I do to keep them and my other plastics safe?

Just keep your Elaztech baits separate from other baits. If you want to reuse them just put them back in the bag they came in.

I fish with zman products, and yes, they do melt in heat or when put with other plastics. They also dont take dies- JJs magic devours them. I tend to keep them in the bottom of the box of plastics to avoid melting. Great baits, they are durable, but like everything they have their pros and cons.

The Zmans will melt down and turn the rest of your baits into a sticky mess. I keep all my Zman baits separate from my other plastics and in their original packages.
