Need Help With Pflueger President!

Featured Replies

Earlier today I slipped and my rod went for a swim. Well after I grabbed it, water was completely pouring out. After taking it apart so it can dry, I accidentally lost a spring. #42 to be exact. It's a clutch spring which I'm assuming is for the anti- reverse. I'm going to go out on a limb here and hope. Would anyone happen to have one? Any help is appreciated. I have it ghetto rigger right now but I'm not sure how king that will last. Thanks guy!

Contact the manufacturer. They'll help you out, maybe for freeeee.

According to the website they have listed. It's actually #9 clutch spring. Discontinued. Just my luck.

Did you call and talk to anyone? They may have a new part# that will work. The president is a current model and hasn't changed significantly.

I called the number on their website and it said it was an out of service number. So the spring is really ghetto rigged right now.

This number? Even though it's ABU's number the same folks answer the calls.

I eventually found a website. It only cost 68 cents but the shipping is 6 dollars. Lol

Yep!!! Or spool bearings, something you gotta make sure you get it soooo very clean... Or you will more than likely have to open it up. This is one area that Iam a firm believer in when the reel goes swimming? Send it to DVT.. He can make the reel better than new... I've tried on a shimano spinner... Couldn't get it clean enuff... Had to trash it... Waited to long and many parts were bad

It was cost prohibitive at that point... I still think you should send it off for a ultra sonic cleaning! My opinion! I appreciate you wanting to do you're on work... Reels under water= DVT !

I don't really have the money to send it off. So I just do it my self to the best of my ability. And it's my main rod at the moment besides my bait caster. So id be out of a reel for who knows how long.
