Now that Tru-Tungsten is out of business

Who's tungsten sinkers are you going to be switching too? I probably have enough in my stash for 1 more season, as well as enough of there smart pegs. But after thats gone I will be looking for replacements. I'll probably just go with bobber stoppers as my sinker peg.I don't like screw in weights, and I don't like the sinkers with the inserts, but some of the brands out there that are insert free, have what looks like to me, a giant hole for the line to pass through and a bobber stopper wouldn't be snug enough to keep the singer in place.......I don't know........ What are you guys using for a tungsten sinker/pegging system (other than TT) and find it to be doing the job well?

Strike King tungsten with the regular old sinker stops for now.  I got several packs on the cheap and have been completely satisfied with them.  I love the shape that they come in also.

I'm on the lookout for a replacement for the Ikey Head shakey heads.

I'm heartbroken about that...

In regards to the OP, right now I'm low on TT, and looking.  I've fished the BPS weights (New, and the holes are huge), eco pro, Rip LIps, Alley's, and EcoPro.  So far Eco Pro is the best, in terms of finish, hole size and the like.  I bought a ton of stops from Cabela's on clearance, as well as flipping weights.  Spent $225 on weights when I heard about it, mostly flipping and 3/16.

When did they go out of business?!?    :)

I think Picasso is going to start making the TT stuff under their name now, but dont quote me on that.

Otherwise I have been looking at the Eco Pro tungesten as well.

Picasso? Aren't they out of business now too? They're website is down and I saw TW doesn't carry their spinnerbaits anymore either.  :'(

Picasso and Tru Tungsten both were brands under the "Fish Harder" umbrella. I think both are gone. Which double sucks, cause I liked the  Picasso Pro Metal sinkers as a cheaper alernative to tungsten, and I am really low on these.

Strike King is going to try to fill the gap left by Tru-Tungsten. I've noticed that several tackle companies and stores are stocking Strike King Tungsten.

There's no pricing or way to order them on thier website. Does someone carry them online for purchase?

With this company it looks like if you live in Cananda they are easy to find. Only one store in the whole US carries their product.

Supposedly, Strike King bought the TT molds.  That's complete hearsay, and I'll put it out there as such, yet it came to me from a reasonably reliable person.

I've picked up a few packs of the Strike King tungsten weights in the past week or so, and they're definitely not the same as the TT ones I already had. The shape is obviously different, with the SK ones having a hexagon shape at the base.

I was pretty upset earlier this year about it. The TT's were gone and the S.K.'s werent available yet. I ended up finding a local store (green top sporting goods) has sourced their own and have them 10 in a bag $5.00. Tough to beat that. They have the lighter weights which alot of the companies dont produce.

I hate to hear that.I like there weights.I thought they did good business.I guess there ownership wasn't the greatest.

Neither was their customer service. Good riddance.

yeap i purchased them online

they have an email address just ask for Bobby

and he can fix you up

ok

just send an email

nice folks

ok

best regards

Robert
