Effects Of Severe Weather On The Bite???

Featured Replies

So I went out to my usually VERY productive local lake tonight and the fishing was crapola!! I only got a few bluegill and a couple of pickerel.

About 2 hrs before I went out, we had a line of very severe thunderstorms roll thru. I'm talking hail, straight line winds ect. Do you think this could have shut the fishing down? While I'm thinking the bass may be moving onto their beds even the bite on the other species was WAY off.

Thanks, Todd

Im in NJ.. there were storms that violent today?

I was out this morning after our storm yesterday in pea soup muddy conditions and got 3 fish over 3 lbs in about 2 hrs of work.

South East Connecticut. On the Rhode Island border. They came rolling thru about 4:30pm. Pretty severe for this time of year. Came straight down from the north?

Where in N.J. You from? I grew up in Bergen County.

Todd

I brought in two walleye yesterday before a storm rolled through here and I went back out today for a few hours and between me and the guy across the creek -- we pulled out at least 20 fish.

It's usually really good around here after strong storms, especially if you can find an area with water running into the lake or where the newly muddy water is mixing with the clearer water.
