Shimano Broken Bail Replacement...$31...seriously???

Featured Replies

2 Shimano Symetre spinning reels both bail arms broke on the same day and have searched the Interweb and all I can find is $31 for a bail arm.

Is the Shimano bail arm the same on other models?

$31 for a bail arm is NUTS when I can buy a new reel for twice that.

How did 2 break? Same exact model? That's very unusual ... Have you checked shimano on line?

Lots of parts on back order right now... How old are they? I wish you luck...

I just found 2 different ones in about 35 seconds, about $3.50 each. Check the links I sent you in your other thread.

Why am I not surprised.  Have replaced bail arms and internal bail assembly parts numerous times on 2 stradics and a spheros, that excludes springs which also have been replaced.  I keep patching mine up because they are good reels, smooth and with excellent line management.  If the reels can be repaired at a cost effective price, I'd go that route.
