Was wondering if any of y'all would share how you like to fish Senkos in the central Florida area, lakes the Kissimmee chain. How do you flip senkos in Kissimme grass? Any tips?

I don't know what the popular way is in Florida but here in Georiga lots of people love to wacky rig senkos. I personally like to Texas rig them...

Honestly idk of senkos are good IN the grass maybe around the edges of pockets or mats of it, flip it into little holes and i actually saw an article about adding some sort of tape to a wacky hook to regulate fall rate but ive always fished mine wacky weightless i still have yet to try it t-rigged

For fishing into grass I have had success the following ways ...

 

1 - Texas rigged weightless.  Glide it around, through and on top of the grass slowly.  Think slow drag

 

2 - Texas rigged weighted - For pushing it through into the grass deeper.  More of a flip and pitch presentation to specific targets.

 

3 - Wacky on a weedless wacky hook.   Use a presentation very similar to #1.  Remember while it's a weedless wacky hook it will still get some weeds.  That can be a PIA sometimes.

In my local, algae-infested pond it is the only way that I can get the worm to the bottom. It still catches plenty of fish for me.

I have a gin clear lake with matted grass everywhere... I'm gonna try this next time I go out!

It just fishes differently, I have very well on more than 1 occasion fishing it on a T-rig with a 1/4 pegged sinker pitching into holes in the grass. Lately I've had some success on grassy lakes using a VMC springlock weighted hook ( both 1/16 & 1/8 oz sizes ), it still has some of the Senko wiggle yet the bait glides more on the fall and fishes a little faster. The Senko like most soft plastics is far more versatile than some anglers realize .

Multiple guys have been telling me to flip senkos in Kissimmee grass, I hadn't herd of that ether but apparently it's the way to go.

T-rig w/ 1/8, 3/16 or 1/4oz.  It still catches lots of fish for me.

Don't forget about swimming senko's around edges of grass or slide it onto grass patties  to fall down in certain spots . then hold on !!!!!!!!!!!!

Senkos will tear easier in hydrilla ... Give a Zoom magnum finesse worm a try... Color= green pumpkin, blue flash....

Some of the senko knock offs would also work here. I use the strike king shim e sticks and big bites trick stick and they seem to be a lot more durable. Nothing beats a Yamasenko though when you need fish in the boat.
