Hey guys so I want to pick up a new shallow cranking rod. The two rods I am looking at are the Duckett Micro Magic 6'9 medium crank rod, and the Tatula 7ft ML rod. What would the better buy be? I like them both a lot, so looking for some advice from people that have some type of experience with these rods. Thanks!

The Tatula is a very good pick. I am blown away by how much quality you get for the price.

My advice is to handle them both and see which one fits you best...

Sounds good thanks yall! For deeper diving cranks what rod out of the tatula line up do you go with? I usually crank 15ft or deeper with a 7'6 or so, but I saw Tatula doesnt have something that long. I have never deep cranked with rod shorter than 7'6, and I wasnt sure how that would really do for the deeper cranks.

Tatula is a much better rod.... Iam not a fan of the white carrot stix

They are both very good rod's. You would be happy with either one. The Duckett is going to be the better rod, IMO. I own and fish with both Rod's and I like both rods but the Duckett  fishes better.

Actually, there is a 7'7" Tatula cranking rod.  It is also my understanding that Daiwa will be unveiling a glass cranking rod in the Tatula line up at Icast.  Normally glass rods are better suited for deeper cranking.  They may also release other new Tatula rods as well.

I saw the 7'7 but I didnt think you would want to deep crank with it. It was rated to top out around 3/4oz. I was worried baits like the Spro DD and the 6xd might be to much for it since they are 1oz. I didnt know that about the glass rod that is really cool!

Yeah you're right, the 7'7" probably wouldn't be very good for the big, deep baits.  Hopefully they will add something to their line up that will work for that!  I love ICAST season!

Haha I hope so, Id love to start working on a daiwa set up for most my combos!
