"you Have Enough Stuff Already!"

Featured Replies

Anyone ever hear this from their spouses, parents, siblings or other family?

I sure hear it a lot. Every time i mention buying a new combo or lures to my dad he always tells me i have too much. He just goes out with his one spinning rod and reel and ironically out fishes me most of the time with his soft plastics.

They don't understand!!!

Your dad is always right! Remember that.

Maybe if he's outfishing you with only soft plastics, you should stop buying gear and learn how to properly use the "too much" gear until you can outfish him. :eyebrows:

I think this is common place for most, if not all the folks on here. When I go through my stuff it gets a little depressing that I do not have enough time to use it all. I could probably fish a decade without needing to buy another creature bait.

I tell myself this, and still buy more. never know when you'll need it, or at least that's the reasoning i use

My lady has more nail polish than I have fishing gear, so she keeps quiet lol. That and she fishes too.

There's more to the hobby of fishing than just catching fish...Collecting gear and lures is part of the whole fishing experience for me. But obviously not as important as catching.

Haha! He usually sticks to senkos and ribbit frogs, but I do catch bigger fish than he does on average!

We all hear it. And fankly, most of the time its probably true. I do agree with the comment about collecting tackle and gear is sorta just part of the whole sport. I love browsing through tackle shops at everyrhing thats out there for us nowadays. I continue to buy, when I really need nothing. The only thing I realistically need periodically is Rage craws.. Other than that, I continue to buys worms and creature baits, when 90% of the time they just get put away to rarely get used again.

i usually just splurge when somethings on sale or ebay. i bought a new plano softsider tackle bag with about 4 boxes of crap i ordered from dofferent sites i havent even sorted through yet. think i have enough plastic worms to last me through the apocalypse

!

YUP ! I heard it once from my wife, exactly as I picked a pack of worms at Academy, to which I replied that I wasn't counting all the junk she had in the closet, s*t like shoes, purses and all those rags ( blouses, trousers, skirts and dresses ). That day we reached an impasse.

I told my wife that I would quit buying reels if she would quit buying purses. She hasn't given me an answer yet. (Been 2 years)
