I was scrolling through academy the other day and ran across the Abu Garcia Revo S spinning reel for $89. I was trying to find out if this was a good deal and also how well this reel does on the water? Thanks

If it's anywhere near as good as the casting reel it's great. Pretty good price too.

They're not bad at all. Compare it feature for feature with the Pflueger models (another Pure Fishing brand) and you'll likely find one similar enough at a better price

What model pfluegers do you recommend?

The Revo sx is an awesome spinning reel and it seems very similar to the SX when i have messed with them

Any from the President and up are good. The President should be on anyone's bang-for-the buck list of spinning reels.
