Minn Kota Problems?

Featured Replies

I have a Minn Kota Maxxum 80 thrust trolling motor and am having problems with it running. It will work but vibrates out a lot more than it should and will stop out of no where. But when you pull it up and drop it back down it works again. I think it is the armature or the bearing thats on it, has anyone ever had this problem? And if it is the armature I noticed you can buy the parts but is it something that is relatively easy to fix on your own. Hopefully I posted this in the right forum.

Thanks

Just fixed my endura 30 stopped working but still had power opened it up noticed the end of the armeture was dull so i wire brushed it replaced brushes and i rings (this happened because water got in) was not big deal go to minnkota website you can see schmadic before you work on it check your i-rings,bearings while your there

Check your wiring too something might be loose

Whats your prop look like..

Have you taken the prop off to look for line wrapped around the shaft?

bad armature. had one on mine. it wouldn't spin if the prop stopped in a certain spot. pick it up and the prop would move a little and work again.

if you have some mechanical knowledge its not a big job. just mark and pay attention to how everything came out.
