Favorite Spinnerbait Weight ?

If throwing a combo spinnerbait (willow leaf / colorado blade) with a soft plastic swim bait trailer (i.e. Big Bite 5" Cane Thumper) would you use a 3/8th oz weight or move up to a 1/2 oz. for the following conditions ?  Conditions would be : Low to moderate wind in 2 foot to 12 foot of water depth during summer time with water temps of 80 degrees + . I would expect more of a "slow roll" bottom technique to be used but could also use  a sub surface technique to see what the bass want that time of day . * Spinnerbait weights throw me off as some pros use a 1/2oz for EVERY water depth - even less than a foot ! Hence my confusion between 3/8th oz or 1/2oz weight as best for my intended usage ?

1/2oz is probably the most universal weight that can be used in most conditions.

I use 3/8 in 4 ft or less. after that I usually use 1/2

3/8. I only throw them shallow into riprap.

I'm fishing waters that average 5-6 FOW so I'm using 1/2 more than half the time I throw a spinner bait, but like iabass said I like to use 3/8 when working really shallow like waking the bait.

Thanks for the replies (plus earlier thread I missed - looks like I will have to experiment between the 3/8th oz and 1/2 oz. as well as trying double willows on the 3/8th oz.
