Hey there,

 

I am new to Vermont; particularly the Stowe Area.

There are plenty of places we haven't fished, but the ones we have, we've had no luck finding the bass.

Been fishing spinner, rubber worms, crank baits, and swim baits.

Just seeing if anyone knows some good spots in the area for big large/small mouth bass.

Catch and release or places to catch supper.

There are plenty of big bass in VT.  Waterbury Reservoir is good for a bunch of smallmouth. Curtis pond, lake Iroquois are another couple good largemouth lakes. Then of course there is always Lake Champlain. One of the best bass lakes in the country.

I wouldn't eat any of the bass from these waters,  plenty of Nate's children to catch and eat (stocked trout).

Anyone ever fish the Harriman Res near Wilmington???

I lived in Vermont for 2 years. Also hit Lake Arrowhead. Caught some good bass in mid summer and during the spawn, it was ridiculous.

 

Stay by the bridge where the road is and across from that, the weed line. You'll know what I'm talking about. When you put in a boat, go to the right until you find the bridge and road. Careful, it can get pretty shallow as you make your way toward the area. On the opposite direction from that little nook, is a loooong weed line. Bass hang on that. It is a long bar shallow to deep. Caught this first fish below in August right up against a log next to the weed line on a weightless watermelon Zoom Ultra vibe speed worm. 

 

I lived ON lake arrowhead while I was there and was out 2-3 days a week. There is ZERO bass fishing pressure out there.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Fishing was good while I was there but I am so happy to be back home in Florida! Nothing beats it.

How deep does this place get? Nevermind looks like the max depth is 185.

The place has a lot of current and the map is not terribly accurate. So finding them consistently is tough. Oh and snagging bottom is irritatingly common.

Where is a better spot to fish closer to Wilmington with my 17ft Nitro boat? I have the wife with me so I dont want to go too far. 

Check if Raponda has a launch, good fish there. Connecticut River and it's set back in Brattleboro have great bass fishing.

If you're cool with a mixed bag of fish and smaller bass, Harriman will work.
