New Englanders Help Me With Lures And Weighted Baits
I live in MA on the NH line. Rapala X-raps. Look them up online. They have shallow and deep running baits. They come in all sorts of colors. I live by these baits. Smallmouth love them as well as largemouth. Jerk baits are where it is at. When the spawn happens and bass are in the shallow rocks/brush these baits tick the fish off and they come and bite. When the bass are a bit more deep throw a deeper running jerkbait and twitch it good. You will find success. Good luck.

What Did You Learn From The Classic
I learned that Rapala still makes some of the best jerk baits on the market (Shadow Rap).

B.a.s.s. & Flw Events In New England.
B.A.S.S. as well as FLW need to start bringing some events to the north east which is called New England. Yes they go to Champlain which is part of Vermont but that is about it. NH has some amazing lakes. Lake Winnipesaukee is one of them. It is a huge lake that could host any event from either organization. Squam Lake is another wonderful place. Newfound Lake in NH is my favorite. It was once the 7th cleanest lake in the country. Amazing smallmouth bass. You also have the CT River which is huge and has some amazing fishing. Major Leauge Fishing just left Sebego Lake and there are a few other big lakes in Maine as well like Moosehead. I am not saying the Elite series needs to come to New England (even though Winni could hold an Elite or FLW tour event) but some B.A.S.S. Northern Opens and FLW Rayovac & BFL events need to get up here. Dont get me wrong I am beyond happy to see events on the St Lawrence River (which I just fished) or the Delaware River or others on the east coast. I would just like to see events come up a bit futher to New England.

Vermont Fishing
Hey guys, my wife and I are heading to southern Vermont this Friday. I will be bringing the boat with me and wanted to fish the Harriman Reservoir. Wondering if anyone here has fished there before? From what I have read there are a good amount of smallmouth bass in there. I cant find a depth chart so I have no idea how deep this place is. Looks like I will be launching the boat out of the northern part of the reservior near Wilmington. Anyone have any information on this place? Thanks

Anyone Have Any Luck In Southern Nh Yet? (4/6/12)
Hey guys...just looking for a little info or opinion. I am fishing with a club in NH next Saturday July 12th (NH Basscasters). The tournament is at Lake Winnipeasauke out of Moultonborough. My question is how are those smallmouth doing right now at Winni? Are they swimming deep and if so how deep? What style of fishing you been doing lately on Winni? Drop shot, throwing a tube, grub or jerkbait or whatever else? If the fish are shallow are they around rocks or off drops or points? Any info would be great. I have not fished Winni in a few years and just trying to get a little info on what is going on with the fish in the amazing lake. Thanks

Quabbin Opener
All fish were caught between 5-7 feet of water on a weight less senko or a tube with a 1/8 oz weight. Amazing day!!!!!!!!!!!! Did not drop shot once. Pulled in about 10 fish. Missed one that jumped off in front of the boat by my buddy that must have been over 4 lbs.

Quabbin Opener
Awesome to here this man. Ya I am headed out early tomorrow morning with a buddy. I have a good spot with a nice drop for smallmouth that usually works well.

Quabbin Opener
Oh I am the same way but as I type this it is pretty cool out. When you think about it we have actually only had a few weeks of really warm weather. Nights have still been cool as the same with mornings. I thought many fish would still stay shallow in the morning until the sun came out then move to about 10-15 feet off of drops. I did not think they would be at 30' already.

Quabbin Opener
30' already? Wow I am surprised. I guess the drop shot is coming out early. I thought I would not have to use it till early to mid July.

Quabbin Opener
If you guys dont mind me asking how deep down were the fish?

Probably going to hit up the Quabbin Sunday if I can. Rent one of their boats. The smallmouth should be right off the banks.

Anyone Have Any Luck In Southern Nh Yet? (4/6/12)
I am going to try to get out on some water this weekend. Dont know if it will be in NH or MA yet. Still no hitch for my truck to pull my boat so it is tough. Really missing Newfound Lake right now. Big tournament on Winni with the NH B.A.S.S. Nation this weekend that I am missing.

Ma Fishing
Been fishing a good amount around some of the ponds in Plymouth MA where my parents live and the bass have been exciting. Been throwing spinner baits and senko worms. Top water works as well.
