Does anywhere on here fish any waters in the Merrimack Valley? I am looking to gain knowledge of more waters next year, and discuss some waters that I fish regularly, to see how others attack these same bodies of water. My main bodies of water are Long Pond, Mascuppic, and the Merrimack River.

I live in the Merrimack valley and have a lot of decent ponds nearby. my favorite is Tewksbury pond. plug pond (lake saltenstall) is good too. both of them hold some BIG fish. the biggun's in plugs are hard to find most of the year but all spawn on the same point by the beach. you can just drift around and see 6,7,and 8 pound fish on beads. Tewksbury is amazing on the south side. you can just throw frogs and hammer um.

Good Luck and Tight Lines

I fish mostly ponds out of haverhill and boxford. Stiles Pond, Hoveys Pond.. Lake Cochichewick all year round has some absolute monster bass! That's located in North Andover.

yes, my dad lives on it so I fish it ALL the time. we live below the Lawrence dam in brackish water and still catch smallies!!! we sometimes catch largemouth but they are generally small. my friend has caught a 6# smallie on a bridge piling under 495. but it is really rocky and not worth risking a nice bass boat in and their is no depth map that goes up that far. we catch most fish in old, simple lures like rebel floating minnows. the current is usually a little fast for any lures that don't constantly move like shakeyheads. it can be tough but it is fun when you accidentally hook into a 15lb  pike or a small striper. I haven't fished alot above the dam but I know it is good

Good Luck!!!

I fished Mascuppic quite a bit this summer and fall.  It is tough in the summer, the traffic is borderline out of control.  Primarily, kids on jet skis riding hard too close to the shoreline. I live a few minutes away, so it was an easy spot to swing over to on Saturday afternoon's, but I would not suggest it as a great fishing spot locally.

Also- my brand new bass boat trailer got backed into while I was on the water, damaging one of my fenders. I would suggest parking in the salon parking lot off the main road.

I would suggest Lake Attitash, larger and not nearly as much traffic (jet skis are illegal). Lots of quality fish there, and there is a group of guys that I think meet every Thursday evening for a cheap fishing tournament.

Swimbaits and Spinnerbaits & Senkos mostly for me. The bottom is mostly soft.. The shoreline is weedy. And yes there is smallmouth I witnessed a few pulled out.. Not sure how many are in there though.

I primarily fish Lond Pond but am on Mascuppic 2-3 times a week. I also had someone run into my trailer and take off a trailer light. Except for the the boat traffic, I usually have a good time out there. Hit me up if you want to share tips or maybe hit the water together in the spring. Or head out on the ice on Long Pond- 8 bass last Sunday for me before the Pats.

My brother and I bought one of those BassPro Pond Prowlers this past summer late in year so we didn't get to hit too many places.

Quick run down of where we did hit: Nutting's Lake in Billerica (both sides of the street - the highway side has a ramp and better fishing in my experience), Concord River (couple different spots on the river), and Spectacle Pond.  Nutting's is the place we fish the most because it is so close to the house, but we have a long list of spots to hit this coming thaw.

Awesome! good stuff... not much of an ice fisherman (yet), but I would definitely be down to hit the water when the spring comes.

is there a fee to pay to launch at Long pond?

Knopp's Pond in Groton is pretty good, and it has a descent ramp (get there early though - parking lot is a bit small).  Lots of different types of structure to fish and there are some good sized fish in there (my cousin caught a 7 to 8 lber in there).

225 acres; it is two bodies of water that are connected. Knops pond and lost lake, has a good boat ramp too.

Thanks, I fish mostly smaller lakes and ponds I use a seaeagle inflatable pontoon boat so launching isn't really a problem, But am always interested in different places around Billerica ....

I have fished or fish most of the places listed by everyone above. I just moved right next to the Nashua river. I have only fished it once or twice long ago. I am really looking forward to fishing this river now that I live so close. The Pepperell dam side of the river looks great.

I've fished the Merrimack river about 2 or 3 times while picking my sister up from crew. In the 20 total minutes I've fished there, I caught 3 bass on a super spook junior.
