Shimano Curado Cu200G6 Question

Featured Replies

I've got the above mentioned reel and it stopped taking up line. The handle turns but no line is put on the spool. I took it apart to see if I could determine the cause. I got the handle off and started diving down into it and I noticed a very small pin and an EXTREMELY small spring popped out. I found both of them the first time they fell out but the second time I lost the spring. I found an exploded parts view and it states that those parts are the Click Pin and Click Spring. I presume this is what makes the reel "click" when the switch is engaged. I ordered a replacement online but it is backordered until October of this year. My question is, do I need this spring? I never set the reel to click anyway (anti reverse??)  so I'm wondering if I need it.

Thanks!

Mike

All those parts do is make the drag star click when you adjust it. The reel is perfectly fishable. As for not taking up line, are you running braid? If so did you use backing?

Did you accidentally loosen your drag?

Nope, no braid and yes, drag was the first thing that I checked. I think the core issue is my son (16), and maybe his buddies, using it.
