First Big Rod And Reel Purchase

Featured Replies

I have been saving my money for a while and was thinking about buying a 7'4" heavy st croix rage equipped with a pflueger patriarch as I think they would look amazing together. I will be using it for top water, some smaller swimbaits, big worms, and big crankbaits. This will be my first 350$+ purchase and was wondering what you guys think about it. Thanks in advance!

Wow.  Patriarch?  Under warranty, though, correct?  Did they make it right for you?   If not a Patriarch, then what...and how does this help TA1?

There's nothing inherently wrong with the Patriarch. St Croix rods do fish on the heavy side though. You may want to consider a MH if not a med. Check lure weight ratings and think about the type of cover you fish to decide.
