Ejected Shells Jam In The Slide Window?

Featured Replies

I have an old german ortgies 7.65mm pistol that I love to shoot at the range. It is a fun pocket gun and very accurate. It says 7.65mm but everything I read says that it is the same as .32 acp. It fires the .32 fine but the ejected shells sometimes jam on their way out the slide window. I can't find any plain 7.65 ammo from overseas and most of that ammo is still listed as both 7.65 & .32acp? Is there really any difference in those bullets or is something wrong with the gun? Would extra deep cleaning help? Anyone have any experience in this? Thanks.

My guess is the cartridge doesnt have enough pressure or the slide spring needs replaced

The load is not hot enough.  Replacing the recoil spring would stiffen the action of the slide, and cause it to happen even more.  I would look around for a reduced power recoil spring.

I'd say clean it and if that doesn't fix it take it to a gun shop

If it doesn't have enough power to push the slide back, try to find someone who does reloading and buy your ammo from them. They tend to make the rounds a little hotter than factories.

Yea, my question is, does it have a ejector pin?

I am guessing blowback... Plus what the guys above said too...

Also it could be you're grip on the pistol, but likely not... Ammo+ Spring is a fine guess..but don't overlook the magazine spring or feed ramp.
