Wanted to try these rigs, but didn't see a reason to spend 4 bucks a piece on a screw in blade. Made a mold with POP and this is the result. Just a blade and swivel attached to braid with a lure collar molded into the bait. Haven't taken time to trim excess off yet because they were still cooling a little. What do you think? Any better way to do it?

I like it. Very good idea with the braid down the middle.

I wont spend $4 on each either, but if you buy all the components the the twistlock centering pins and blades are about the most expensive coming to about $10 and then another $2 for the swivels and split rings.  Looks like you already have invested in the blades and rings, and I have used this set up, be warned if you use them on Senko's the tend to tare out.  I use Yum Dingers in the 5" and have had great success, and have never lost a rig out of the back of them. To make your own once you have most of the components you can get it down to around $1.50ea rig.

I agree with gulfcaptain. In orfer to try them out  I constructed one from materials (willow leaf blade, BB swivel, split ring and a twistlock centering pin) I had laying around using a BPS Stick-o. I only tried it once for a short period of time. I have to give it more of a workout.

I use a hitch-hiker or screw-lock. I know u wouldn't think that it would hold very well  but it REALLY does. Even keeps the little bream bites on the tail away. I'm full of other crafty mod ideas so if u ever need a new idea just ask

I swear I'm the only person in our neck of the woods on up that doesn't throw these yet. The swim jig/squarebill bite right now is ridiculously good that I think a rig like this would work under schoolers. Do you have a lot of success /w ring fry/centepede baits in backwaters/lakes i.e cassville or frentress lake? something like 1/4oz mojo?

Im in Louisiana where the average depth in the 8 fisheries around my house is 2 - 12 feet. with a lot of lillypads and cypress trees. I cant say Ive ever thrown a ring fry and the centipedes Ive used were 8 inches long. They worked good though.

I'm more of a flipping guy. Probably 75% of my fish on 11/12 come on a beaver or a brush hog. I've had good luck with a senko in frentress and actually prefer a senko early in the year on most of the river, but I flip that with weight.

That’s clever. I like that braided line going the length of the worm, it shouldn’t affect the subtle wobble of the worm. The Strike King and Yamamoto Senko have a nice action but the fish tear them up so easily.

just put a blade in front or on hook like an underspin, I actually do better that way and stick nail weights in the tail for more whipping action.
