Mold Store??

Featured Replies

Are there any stores that sell molds for soft plastics?? I am not talking about like internet or catalog, an actuall store that carries any. I got my del mart kit with everything except the mold (which will come later) and i wanna use it right now. THX

I know it's not a brick and mortor store, but lurecraft is almost as good.  Any molds that they have usually arrive two days or so after you order.  They are excellent with shipping.

there is no local store that sells plastic molds, but you can make some on your own. all you need is plaster of paris and a lure you want to make, ofcourse this is going to make a flat sided mold. google 'plastic lure molds' and a couple of things will come up, one of them explains but i forget which one, its on the first page though.

two part molds are also possible with plaster of paris.  there is a wonderful tutorial on tackleunderground.com  If you go under user submitted tutorials you will find this.  It explains how to do this, I have tried to make my own molds w/limited success.  I will tell you this, if you can spring for epoxy to seal your mold you will be much happier in the long run.

I made my own over the weekend and i was rushed so it didnt go very great. But im gonna try again soon now that i know how to do it.

bassmasta, i'd love to see your results (pics please).  Also what type of sealant did you use?  I want to start making the trailers that come with the chatterbaits, and haven't found the right mold yet so I guess I'll make it.
