Crankbait Rod

Featured Replies

I'm looking for a rod to handle medium diving crankbaits including DT6-DT14s and SK series 5 cranks. Would the Powell Diesel crankbait rod handle these well? I like the price but am also considering a Shimano Compre crankbait rod.

Thanks,

Joe

I'm not sure if you're looking to spend this much but I have the St. Croix Avid (7' Medium Power with Fast Action) and I would highly recommend it. I mainly use it for crank baits but I feel its very versatile for other styles as well.

I'm on a similar journey, tiller. I'm in the 150 dollars or less market. Okuma tcs, daiwa tatula, fenwick, Powell max are all rods I'm looking into for medium cranking.

I'm looking for a MH rod as some of those cranks can be nearly 3/4 oz.

Are you looking for a glass crankbait rod or a graphite one?
