Abu Garcia Pro Max Rod?

Featured Replies

I recently bought the Pro max combo for the reel and found myself with a rod that had a plethora of bad reviews. Should I sell the rod before it snaps or use it anyways? Do other people have experience with this rod? it is the 7' MH version.

Thanks!

How recently did you purchase it? If it was within a month, most places take returns for store credit on used items.

Beyond that, I would use the rod and have the Abu Garcia warranty service bookmarked.

I bought it today at Dicks Sporting goods. It hasnt been used yet at all. Could i get store credit for the rod only?

Not if you bought the combo. I have an Abu black Max 2 combo and its OK.

Usually with combos, it's wholesale. You could ask the sales rep nicely if you could trade out for another rod, but I would just return it. You should be able to get cash back with a receipt. Do some research and save some money for a different rod.

If it is your first baitcaster then it should work out fine. There are better out there but it should last you a while.

I just think if i use it for frogging its not going to end well. It doesnt seem to have good backbone and Id rather sell it than risk the snap
