New To Nova

Featured Replies

Hello,

Just wanted to introduce myself. I am new to fishing in this area (currently live in Dale City). Any pointers, etc. are helpful. I was at the occoquan reservoir yesterday off a bank near the dock. Interested in any good areas the region may offer for Bass fishing. Thanks, and hope to see some members around  :leisures-and-sports-076:

Welcome, FF.    Lots of good local brothers here in BR.  Just when I think I've tried and/or heard about all the bass spots in the region, I read about some place on here that I haven't even heard of.  (Did a drive/walk - by of Heron Pond yesterday.  Never heard of it before last week; here on BR.)

Couple of threads with good info to start you out:

Just be sure to give yourself additional time if you are heading towards the DC area due to traffic.

Try to find the free Virginia Game and Inland Fisheries booklet, Freshwater Fishing in Virginia at your local tackle shop.

You will find a list of public areas you can fish in the booklet.

And keep your eyes open on this Forum as the guys can give you some other suggestions on pond fishing in NOVA.
