Bps Pro Qual Reel Handle Replacement

Featured Replies

Well I've never experienced having to replace any parts on my reels until today. I slipped on a moss covered rock down by the dam I was fishing and ended up falling on my rod and reel. The rod came out unscathed but the BPS Pro Qual reel handle was bent badly. I've contacted BPS but they don't carry replacement handles (which is incredibly stupid in my opinion) so I'm left trying to figure out what to do. Are most of the replacement handles available for brands such as Abu or Lews interchangeable with other brands?

When you say that you contacted BPS - do you mean you called a BPS store?  If so, then you need to contact Outdoor World Rod & Reel Repair.   If they are temporarily out of stock on handle assemblies, ask them about the availability of salvage handles (handles salvaged from returned reels).

Otherwise, lots of handles fit the PQ, including as you already mentioned Lew's and Abu handles.

Perfect, thanks man that's what I needed to know!

Basspro makes a regular replacement handle and a power handle that is just a little bigger. They run about ten bucks, if you have to buy one for some reason. If you really need one I have 3 or 4 PQ handles laying around that I have replaced with the power handles.

Or just return it for a new one. I work at basspro they'll take care of you unless the department is full of ********.

In addition to what everyone else has said, the reel uses what I call the "industry standard" sized handle meaning that any Abu/Diawa/Lews ect handles will fit.

Which power handles are you referring to? Can you give me a link? Are you talking about the XP Handles?

Can't figure out how to post a link on this iPad, but it's the XPS casting reel standard and power replacement handle. They're $9.49 and $11.49 respectively.
