making lures out of cork?

Featured Replies

I'm just wondering if anyones ever tried making a top water lure with a wine cork. If you have tell me your story, if you haven't tell me what you think about the idea.Thanks.

I guess you could make something that would resemble a popper out of a wine bottle cork.  Maybe add some rubber legs or wings for effect?  My wife makes traditional poppers out of foam on a smaller scale, so I don't see why this couldn't work.  Keep us posted on what you come up with.

There are flies made out of cork, like bass bugs, and some bluegill lures. You can make spiders and stuff like that. But dont you imagine the cork would be a little too light to fish effectivley with conventional gear?
