  1. I fish this one area of a pond in the summer where I catch lots of fish. In both the fall and spring when it's colder I don't even see any. Do the fish change locations during these times.
  2. If I were you I'd try throwing some 3inch curly tail worms, you really can't go wrong. Just put one on a 1/8 ounce jig and cast it out, retrieve it close to the bottom somewhat slowly. I use this technique at my local pond and it never fails. Good luck, and keep us updated.
  3. You guys don't know cabin fever. I'm from Ontario Canada and the ice here has just started to melt. I'd say maybe in 2 weeks time I'll be able to get that bait in the water. I can't wait. This winter has really pushed me to take up ice fishing. Good luck in the new season I hope to see you out there soon.
  4. Welcome to my favourite kind of fishing. I use worms everywhere and anywhere. There are many ways to fish them, I suggest you read some of the articles offered on this site to help you out.
  5. Good to hear things are starting out well for everyone. It is still the end of winter here in Canada but I can't wait to get out there. Good luck to everyone this season.
  6. It's not like we don't have the resources to catch fish without disrupting another species to do so. If using these fish as bait was our only option and it was used for food then OK but with the resources we have give me a break, it's crazy.
  7. what is the stretch and memory like?
  8. Is Yo-Zuri Hybrid(4lb diameter for 8.5lb test) and expensive line?
  9. Is Power line a good versatile line for all lure setups on a spinning reel. Why or why not? If it isn't then what is a good versatile line for all lure setups on a spinning reel, around 10-12 pound test.
  10. I'm just wondering what you guys think about jigging in the summer with an ice fishing rod. I think there could be some advantages like more control and sensitivity. Just throwing this out there, what do you guys think?
  11. I have a shimano rod and reel that came together. The rod is a medium action, , takes 6-14 pounds of line, and is built for up to 1/2oz lure weight. I don't know the stats of the reel but it came with the rod so I'm assuming it's built for the same weights and lines as the rod, it is spinning. It's not an expensive rod and reel but it seems to do alright. I am looking for some good line. Probably around 10 pound line, for a spinning reel and medium rod, it will be used for light tackle, no more then 1/2oz, and I wil be fishing mostly bass I'd say up to 5 pounds, the odd pike, odd panfish, no extremely heavy fish though. I want a line that works best with those requirements, casts smoothly and doesn't tangle much, I don't know if monofilament is good to buy for bass but if you guys think it's good to have stretch for bass then let me know. Anyway good luck with this one, thanks a lot if you can help me. What line should I buy?
  12. Ya I'm from Canada, thanks for the info.
  13. Just wondering if there are any common household products that you can use to dye white worms red? Thanks.
  14. I am not new to fishing but I am new to spring fishing, I've never done it. I usually do all my fishing in the summer but this year I'm starting in spring. Anyway in preparing for the spring fishing season, is there anything really important that I need to know that makes spring fishing different then summer fishing? Thanks for the help.
  15. I'm Canadian! (that's a yes)
