I fish this one area of a pond in the summer where I catch lots of fish. In both the fall and spring when it's colder I don't even see any. Do the fish change locations during these times.

If I were you I'd try throwing some 3inch curly tail worms, you really can't go wrong. Just put one on a 1/8 ounce jig and cast it out, retrieve it close to the bottom somewhat slowly. I use this technique at my local pond and it never fails. Good luck, and keep us updated.

You guys don't know cabin fever. I'm from Ontario Canada and the ice here has just started to melt. I'd say maybe in 2 weeks time I'll be able to get that bait in the water. I can't wait. It's not like we don't have the resources to catch fish without disrupting another species to do so. If using these fish as bait was our only option and it was used for food then OK but with the resources we have give me a break, it's crazy.

I'm just wondering what you guys think about jigging in the summer with an ice fishing rod. I think there could be some advantages like more control and sensitivity. Just throwing this out there, what do you guys think?

I have a shimano rod and reel that came together. The rod is a medium action, , takes 6-14 pounds of line, and is built for up to 1/2oz lure weight. I don't know the stats of the reel but it came with the rod so I'm assuming it's built for the same weights and lines as the rod, it is spinning. It's not an expensive rod and reel but it seems to do alright. I am looking for some good line. Probably around 10 pound line, for a spinning reel and medium rod, it will be used for light tackle, no more then 1/2oz, and I wil be fishing mostly bass I'd say up to 5 pounds, the odd pike, odd panfish, no extremely heavy fish though. I want a line that works best with those requirements, casts smoothly and doesn't tangle much, I don't know if monofilament is good to buy for bass but if you guys think it's good to have stretch for bass then let me know. Anyway good luck with this one, thanks a lot if you can help me. What line should I buy?

I am not new to fishing but I am new to spring fishing, I've never done it. I usually do all my fishing in the summer but this year I'm starting in spring. Anyway in preparing for the spring fishing season, is there anything really important that I need to know that makes spring fishing different then summer fishing? Thanks for the help.

They do look interesting, I think they would be really to use. You can make up some good techniques using those. Anyway they look good now let me know how they work.

Troutfisher you are politically motivated and seem to be all for bush's government. You need to be more open to oposing ideas. You say my arguments are invalid statements ,only because you believe what FOX news is saying entirely and what bush tries to make people believe you believe, not to say that these sources are incorrect because you, nor I will ever know, but that is why you can't be so certain of what you believe because the reality is you don't know. Say bush did take all the oil and tried to cover it up, do you think he'd lower the gas prices because he has a huge supply, no because that would make people think he went in for the oil and is lying to his people, he would jack up prices first of all to make people believe he didn't take the oil, and secondly to make more money. You have to remember in today's society people are driven entirely by profit. Health, honesty, and fairness rank way lower when it comes to what is most important for people.

I am only trying to make discussion, althought it may be heated discussion and discussion that may be very frustrating for ignorant people, it is still discussion and that is the beauty of democracy. Bin Laden's family and Bush's family are very close, all the gold stored under the towers was taken away before they collapsed, Bush has taken all the oil from the countries he has invaded, the list goes on. I am simply being open to both sides. And calling living in Canada like growing mushrooms in your basement, first of all we aren't the country being threatened by all these other countries, we aren't the country with brutal ghettos in every city that are mostly filled with minority groups, we aren't the country called the melting pot that strips everyone of their culture, and your saying we are stupid for taking guns of the streets? You are obviously not informed about your murder rates related to guns and violence and all of your street problems. So don't make fun of my country when your the ones with the real problems. I am in no way supporting Bin Laden or Saddam or there countries by any means, nor am I supporting Bush, I'm simply being open to the facts that are presented by both sides. I was not trying to start a war by making those statements, and was simply excercising my freedom of speach that so many people are afraid to use. You make fun of Canada and say that your country is the shining light, sure it is when you only look at the good things and pretend all the bad things don't exist, which is exactly what you do.
