Power Bait

Featured Replies

Will panfish or maybe even bass hit hooks with that power bait dough that comes in a jar? I never had luck with the trout, now I think I'll get another jar and try it on the panfish or maybe even bass. Any thoughts?

If you want a powerbait for panfish check out the Gulp line up. The maggots and 1" minnows are killers for panfish and will occasionally catch bass.

Bluebasser beat me to it. If you are going to buy anything in a jar to go after panfish, get the Gulp! or Gulp! Alive. I'm sure that the dough would work if you already have it, but since you were looking to buy something anyways I'd look at the Gulp maggots or crickets. Both of them have been absolutley dominating the bluegill for me this season. I'm sure that the minnows would be killer for crappie too, but I've never tried that because bluegill are so much more accessible for me during the summer months.

Yes panfish will eat that stuff, especially blue gill. Hatchery trout also love it. But as said you are better off with something that can provide a little action.

The 2" Powerbait Minnows, rigged on a 1/16 oz. ball head jig, are destroying the crappie and bluegill up here. :)

Thanks guys.I think I'll buy some of that gulp stuff. I'm a bass guy but when you fish all day and catch nothing, I figure it's best to try for some panfish. Little fish is better than no fish.
