wow, that is great. i think i am going to start using split grips. i used one the last few trips last year and liked it alot.

Weight is the secondary advantage, the primary advantage is more sensitivity. Less cork in front of and behind the reel seat makes for less dampening of the vibrations moving up the line and rod blank.

Here a new look for me. 8-)

I just did this extreme split grip on a 2s70mf blank. Used Andy's exotic burnt black for the comfort buttons fore and aft on the seat (DPS 17mm). The butt grip is Andy's burnt black and German brown burls, with the rubberized cork cap.
