Avoided The Skunk Right Before Dark!

I went out last night to a pond close to the house to try and fish for about an hour before dark.  i hit all my usual spots with only 1 missed strike to show for it.  I was about to pack it up as it was getting dark, but then i saw a topwater explosion at a spot i had already hit.  i went over to get a better vantage point, which happened to be balancing on a downed log in the lake!  it was tight quarters so i pitched my spinnerbait a couple times and about the third time felt like a locomotive was pulling my bait from me!  i set the hook (almost falling off the log) and managed to get a nice little 2-2.5#er....  I snapped a pic of the log i was balancing on as well as the fish, but the lack of light made for a terrible picture (sorry).  oh well, felt good to tighten the line last night!

nice!   did that catch make you stay longer?  haha

funny part is i wanted to, but just felt like leaving on a high note.... so no, didn't make one more cast!  kind of like scoring a big pot at the poker table and running off with my winnings!!!

yes sir, just good to walk away on a high note.  with my usual luck, i would make another cast and snag my lure, backlash, miss a fish, just about anything that could go wrong would go wrong.....
