Just Because Is It Still?

Featured Replies

this has to with those that have gotten a pb of whatever species, do you think the lake you caught your pb out of is the best or #1 place to this day? one might think that but it may not be also . just cause i caught my pb that was in a back area water that led into a main lake and caught it there doesn't necessarily make me rank it #1 . same goes with gear and tackle imo as well , what's your op? i know i won't forget that place and how i caught it either, but i was in the right place fishing at the right time and the pb just happened to be there.i don't think that pb cared to much if any about gear and tackle for that matter, when i caught mine. what and how do you see it in your op on the lake, tackle, and gear you used to catch your pb? are they #1 still to this day?

Yeah where I caught my PB definitely isn't my #1 lake. It is too small to even launch my boat on, gets too many lily pads to fish it after june, and mostly has dinks. It does make a nice place to fish in the spring (before the pads come in) from shore. Mostly dinks but that is where I caught my 5 lber none the less.

I caught mine In a pond I never fished that a buddy of mine I work with knew of and him and all his buddies caught big fish out of there he took me to it. But it wasn't bigger than all the fish there so it was an ok spot lol coulda been in a better spot n got a 6-7 pounder.

The lake I caught my PB is my favorite place to fish. Might not be the greatest fish factory but its beautiful out there

The lake I caught my PB on is definitely my favorite. We don't have many good lakes here in Northern Illinois, so the ones across WI border are my best bet for numbers and size of bass. Plenty of good ponds near my house, but not many hold fives, let alone a 6+ lbr. As far as lure/specific location goes, that is determined by seasonal patterns. It wouldn't make sense to throw a rattletrap in 2 feet of water all summer just because that is how i caught a big one in May.

I'd have to agree with this, the fish might not be the biggest or the best, but after fishing at one place for long enough, it doesn't seem right to fish anywhere else.

x2. Although I haven't fished the spot that I caught my PB at in years.

I usually try to think of the future when it comes to fishing. Sure I reminisce on the good catches, but the next one is always more exciting to me. Fishing with good people and beautiful surroundings just makes it that much more worthwhile.

my PB lake is my favorite lake to fish. its full of really healthy fish, typical days out there best 5 go over 18 lbs... which is pretty rare in MN. my best day on this lake (not the day I caught my PB) my best 5 went well over 25 lbs. I only go to this lake a few times each year though as i like to diversify my fishing experiences...
