Do you think your team is gonna make the playoff's? then do you think your team is gonna take the super bowl ?

I'm just curious with the old year here almost done with, if your fishing techniques ,tactics,or baits gonna stay the same or change? and if so how ? some of you might, then again some of you might not . I myself am gonna try a few different lures that i have in my possession but never used for about 3yrs and will start the next years season with those and see what happens come late march 2015. Thats my plan for the new year, what's your's if you have any for next year fishing? oh yeah one other question with this topic also , if you have any plans or tactics , techniques or baits your gonna try do you think you'll do better than this 2014 season you just fished come 2015 season?

This is a good question in my opinion do to the various shapes and sizes that are available today and wonder if those make that much of a difference really when we make that decision on the one we chose when we put it on the line and use it, in my opinion if i'm like thinking how does a fish see it as, well a free meal ! It may play a part, size and color but just a 50 percent in my opinion , the other 50 is up to the fishermen or person behind that worm or lure itself . what your op on this?

Did you happen to go fishing this year and hooked up with a fish that just might have been a pb and lost it during the fight ? not just thought it was a pb, but kinda knew for sure it was ? or even it wasn't a pb but the best fish for this years fishing ? that happened to me about august this year it wasn't a pb but was at least a 3 or 4lb bass and that's pretty decent for around here. what's your story if this happened to you this year?

just curious , do you plan on a newer or different routine, or way of fishing for the new year ? or maybe just stay with the same routine you've had built up or stuck with overall the years you've fished ? I've pretty much stayed with my same routine as far as technique and lures go over the past 3 or 4 yrs and haven't tried any new baits or different techniques at all since that time and done ok for this years fishing , what's your op for next years fishing routine or outlook?

do you have a particular time you usually hit the water ? i myself hit the water for fishing if I can, early morning or late afternoon till dark. just curious ,but i think it has an effect on my fishing . midday is not like that early morning or late afternoon fishing is either, as far as the bites go . less bites if it's midday in my op . what's your op?

I know we all have friends and buddies we do fishing with ,but how often does your wife or girl friend fish with you ? and if whichever one that is does she know just about as much about fishing as you ? and finally in all fun fishing with her on the water, does she give you a run for your money, figuratively speaking. what's your op?

I was curious about if the day you did catch your pb, if you had that mind set, or determination to get that pb, by whatever you chose and decided to use as far as gear /tackle goes. Simply saying (I'm gonna go out today and catch that pb)and did just that ! Or was it on a normal day fishing not expecting it and caught it then? I believe if you have that mind set that your gonna get a pb, you can do just that ! not always ,but sometimes or pretty close . I also think after fishing for awhile your chances improve more so as far as the techniques,patterns,gear,and tackle we've learned and chose to get that pb on that day we caught it, My pb wasn't expected the day i did catch it, and I did have a notion i was gonna catch a bass of decent size ,but not like that ! it was totally unexpected. so anyways did you plan the day you went out fishing for a pb and accomplished just that, or not expecting a pb but caught it? your op!

i'm not with it today, sorry about that . but replying to my own topic as well. is their a difference holding your line when working plastics on your retrieve ? or are you one of those that don't hold the line when retrieving plastics?

When i started using plastics worms ,grubs etc , I was taught to hold the line as I was reeling that worm or whatever plastic was using at the time , I was told by doing that technique you could tell a fish was hitting your worm or whatever plastic better if you weren't holding that line . I use do the hold the line thing,but haven't in years and since i haven't done so I can't tell the difference in my op . so is their a difference if you do hold the line or not retrieving plastics worms ,grubs etc? what's your op?

Was that lure you caught your pb on a goto/favorite lure that caught your pb? or a random lure you just picked out of your tb and caught your pb ? i myself caught mine on a random spinnerbait. and is not one of my goto /favorite lures. so did you plan on that lure you chose on that day expecting that pb? or was it a randomly chosen lure you used and didn't think would work but did catch your pb? what's your story on your pb,and lure you caught it with? did you chose that lure or pick a random lure that caught your pb?

i'm just wondering when there's somewhat or pretty heavy fog on the water how or does that make a difference or does it in our fishing ? and if it does how so ? or would it be like overcast weather? sometimes fog can be around for a little bit or stay a few hours then burn off. but does fog alter our fishing or not? i think that spooking the fish were after wouldn't be a factor simply because if i can't see it or anything it can't see me either. what's your op? i also think it would improve catching the fish were after also in my op. i don't know if some or all of you fished in fog, just asking your op ?

We've been into fishing now and i assume found a favorite lure by now or have one, but just curious since finding that favorite lure have you gone out fishing and found a better lure that'll replace your old favorite lure? your old favorite been replaced by a better or newer lure now ? or staying with the old lure that's your favorite no matter what ! plastics are my favorites to this day and always will be. what's your op?

Since we all started and say have found a new better way to fish by whatever source we learned it from, does it outdo the older ways or your old school tactics of fishing and baits more so, less or the same. I myself still use both new and old ways and bait's equally in my op. some people might think that because it's newer tactics or bait's it's gonna do way better, but just cause it's older or might be outdated doesn't mean it doesn't work in my op. bait's ,techniques,gear,etc.. some go with newer ways and baits and put the old ways and baits aside, do you use both ways and baits ? what's your op?

Just curious, but when are you ready to fish? do you have your fishing gear with you ready in your vehicle and just pick a body of water then pull over and fish? or do you plan in advance the fishing your gonna do the night before or the next day and then take your fishing gear with ? so do have your gear with you at ready in your possession all times or not? I myself have a ford ranger,and when i decide to fish then take my gear with. i know some people with trucks have tops and some don't. mine doesn't, otherwise i'd have my gear with me at all times and ready to go in the truck, not having with me and at home then having to get after you seen a body of water you drove by , thinking if i only had my gear ! but don't

do you think you have reached another level in your fishing today ,and when did this happen ? and what was it that made you reach that next level in your fishing ? i know after fishing for a while you just know your still the same or surpassing your fishing skills, has your fishing as you know it moved up any? I'm still at the same level or stage in my fishing in my op? for an example , not a beginner but average fishermen now ,or was an average fishermen but you got this feeling you've reached that above average fishermen level or status. or maybe you think you were above average and feel you reached that semi pro level in your mind . see what i'm saying i hope .

I adjust accordingly depending what species of fish i'm after. If i'm after say bass i'll usually set that drag where i'll pull the line and get that line to pull just a little bit off the reel, but also knowing what size species of fish are generally in that water your fishing helps also. so small fish lighter setting on the drag ,med size fish a mid setting, and finally those big boys a med heavy or heavy setting on the drag. after a while fishing it will be second nature to you, in my op.

This might apply to all or some of us, but do you have any rare or one of a kind lures and are still using today?or did you have a rare or one of a kind lure and used it fishing and didn't know it was rare and lost it ? some of these rare or one of a kind lures are no longer made and can't be replaced ever .

I haven't been fishing in weeded areas like lilly pads, or well vegetated areas of water like when i'm in a boat, but when i do get a chance to get by these areas of weeds i usually go with a worm either with it weighted or not. Then throw it right into the middle of say a patch of lilly pads and on across the top, then drag it very slow and let it drop and sometimes get a hit, or while its on top get a hit there also. That's how i fish weeded areas. how do you fish in weeded areas and your most effective lure and technique for doing so? in your op , i know there's numerous amounts of fresh water vegetation,but the one you normally deal with the most in your fishing . some people target cattails,etc.. i mostly favor lilly pads.

I haven't fished for about 13 days and decided to give it another shot, I was at pond i usually fish and when i arrived the water was like glass and was cool, not cold, I had a 6in lite purple /blue flk worm with a1/8 once split shot, I caught one small bass about 10inches on my 2nd cast and was in shallow water about 1 1/2 maybe 2ft, this at about 1:30pm and no wind ,76deg, and after that no bass, no bites, nothing . was it luck or what ? but where do the big bass hang out now that it is fall ? and what lures might be best for this scenario? tried a popper with no results. and do popper's still work now that it is fall ? your op . I don't usually fish the fall season that much , just want to get back into fall fishing. what's your op

We are into fishing and have gotten information from various sources ,as far as lures /tackle/rigs/ patterns,etc.. now you know and using in your fishing today. but is there a pattern /rig/ tackle etc. that wasn't say here before but now is , some of these are new rigs,tackle,etc, some aren't either, but which patterns /rigs/ tackle etc have you learned now and made a significant impact on your fishing today would you wish you could have learned earlier but either wasn't say invented yet? wasn't out yet ? So which patterns /rigs/ tackle etc have you gathered today would you wish you could have learned earlier but wasn't here yet? and how does it do in your fishing strategy today? in your op

Just am wondering if you did catch a fish that is endangered or not, and if so do you remember what kind of fish it was ? does someone that has caught one have to report that incident as well to fish and game authorities or not? it's rare in my op, what's your op on this?

Were into fishing by now and have gotten a tb with a sufficient amount of lures ,but how much of that tackle or lures isn't being used or hasn't yet? I myself ask this question and have alot of lures that haven't been used in yrs or haven't hit the water yet to this day . were always getting new lures /tackle ,but how much is enough? or when does it stop? or does it ? I've got lures that haven't been used to this day after 15yrs and are in mint condition. plastics worms,grubs,etc.. won't need either, but anyway do you still have alot of lures /tackle you still haven't used and buy more anyway? i know in my op (it's better to have more than not enough) but really how much do we need as far as lures /tackle go ? I've aquired to much tackle in my op , but lose some every year, no doubt about that! It's nice to have something to replace it though and have at hand . does this happen to you?

This is pretty interesting question in my op, I assume everyone has a pb or is trying to catch one , Now i'm wondering is the 2nd pb gonna mean more or less than your 1st pb? or the same? I haven't caught my 2nd pb yet ,but i think it will happen in my own time on the water, not sure when but sometime i'm sure. I don't think it will be in this state either in my op! but if you did catch your 2nd pb was it as good as catching your 1st pb and how so in your op? one more question , Are you gonna get a picture, catch and release it, or maybe take home and eat it? some people do you know . what's your op? or get that mounted from a taxidermist? i'd get that fish mounted if and when that day does come !

I've noticed a few ponds that i have fished in the past are not as big,and are shrinking in size . Now i think its from irrigation pumps that the city uses for whatever reasons, their trucks they fill for water, and do have a park right next to this pond as well. they might use it some for that also, i don't think so though in my op by how much they'd have to use as far as water goes to cover that lawn , but now it's pretty well where you can cast across this pond easily, do you think that by the city using or draining it like they did might increase my odds in catching more bass? it's got decent cover,fallen trees mostly and 2 tiny islands, this pond in my op as far as size goes is about 50yds in diameter total . i think it will be like catching fish from a barrel in my op ! what's your op ? does this improve my odds catching more bass or not?
