Was just curious, there's alot of new tackle out there and we have got some or alot with us in our tbox,but do you use more of it than your old tackle or is it the same? It's the same for me, i think and does the same too.

With fall upon us was thinking how and when that thermal turnover is going to effect the way we plan on catching our targeted fish. It's going to happen soon i'm sure, so with that being said, do you have a strategy that goes into that happening? I am figuring not as many bites but still sufficient, Those 2 layers of water going to flip soon but not for sure when. And will your fish you target be deeper or what? I'd say the water temp's dropped 5to maybe 7 deg here and is on it's way down at a gradual rate depending on the weather.

if you plan on just one time doing this then go ups, if more times then this, invest in a rod holder, i think bps has them for 35$ and are well worth it if you like taking care of your fishing rods. That way you have this rod holder a lifetime . and as far as your reels go, bubble rap them and either put them in your luggage or ship them ups, it's your call!

I was wondering where have you caught most of your best fish this year? has it been on top,mid depth,or bottom? i have done best on top, and bottom . Nothing at mid running depth's at all this year, just basically two lures also this year,top water popper,and plastic rigs,worms,etc... about 3to6in range, not that i don't have more to use, but why if its getting results ? where have you been getting results at? and with what lure or lures have been getting you those results? And since i've gone fishing this year i'd say its been 75% hook up with fish ratio and the other 25% mishooks.

Was just thinking , the big bass we happen to try and get or eventually end up getting , do they hang in schools with other bass or near them? or do they pretty much go it alone? or do they hang in schools too or rarely? like smaller bass and medium size bass do. i've seen both of those schooling but don't recall ever seeing those big ones schooling together. just curious . i've been bank fishing and seen a big one swim by but was by itself and like i said, not in schools . where smaller and medium size bass were in schools .3 or more in those schools. i've caught the small,med,and large so thought i'd ask your opinion on this topic. Are big bass loners for the most part? or depends. Or just to be in the right place at right time ,when that big bass hit and you just happen to be the one catching it!

i hear you and it's a good idea for sure , i have done that though before i got married and been 16 yrs now and have a substantial amount of plastics, even though i find deals i can't pass up. and i don't think it's a bad thing. the old saying goes (better to have more than not enough!)

This has to do with the tackle you use as far as artificial and live bait goes , Now i've used both and i think you get the same results with artificial bait in my opinion , maybe faster too depending on certain factors , i haven't used live bait in sometime now, But when i did sure i caught fish and their were big fish as well. Not that live bait doesn't do it's part ,just that in my opinion they do the same , and how you work your artificial's play a part in getting the fish you target or just too fish like live bait does. And with that being my opinion ,what's your's ? if you were to do a fishing contest against another person and he had live bait and you had artificial , who'd win as far as catching a bigger fish . he might have a slight advantage but doesn't mean he'd win in my opinion. it would be a underdog the artificial bait might be, but i've caught the same as far as more and just as big with artificial bait than with live bait does . I rate artificial bait 49% live bait 51% imo!

The ponds i fish are a total of 5 ponds , but 2 are new and they are producing ok, the rest are older and used to be as productive and with better and bigger bass , i'm not sure about if they are being heavily fished or what. now i use the same tackle ,tactics etc... with no results like say 2 years ago. their some decent size bass like 3 to maybe a 4lb range in these but seem harder to catch now than before. i'm open for suggestions! one of these ponds is fished heavily for trout by others and not sure if that pressure has an effect as far as me catching my bass. the other 2 nothing at all, and both have good structure for them,(like the hilton ) so can't figure why they aren't hitting and used to be before. As far as the fishing pressure goes besides the one pond with trout in it, limited if any to my knowledge. one pond has fallen trees in it and use a texas rig worm ,with no results like i use too , they used to smash a rattling rogue but nothing now. need some suggestions,thanks

We all been fishing or started too fish, and have asked you when you caught your pb. But this came to me just now , where did you catch it ? was it caught in a weed bed, along outside of weed beds ,flooded timber or out in open water. I caught my pb out in open water . where have you been catching most of your fish this year ? mine have been outside edges of weed beds mostly. Even though fish other areas as well.

sorry bout that , it's either orlando or Ft lauderdale, area . this computer crap is kinda frustrating to me. The last time i had one was when they had the 486 in the day ! so bear with me . lol... just that areas should be pretty decent for bass , I hope so anyways.

I'm planning for next years fishing trip, which is florida, and have a cousin down there so have a place to stay. But once i get there how would you go about finding the best or at least the best places to fish for bass ? not knowing the lakes,ponds,etc... gonna stay 7to10 days down there . few questions with this topic also , 1-would you get an annual licence or a daily licence? some states its cheaper to buy a annual than a daily one, not sure about wkly licence either, if they have them. 2-what month would be best for bass ? 3- would 8 or 10lb test line suffice? figure 5lb ers and up to be average down there, but heard that lb test should hold,that's why i'm asking. I'm planning on flying there, need to get some advice so can book this flight in dec. Thanks!

it seems to me that alot of areas of water are being restricted to anything but fishing and weren't that way before . just like no swimming ,tubing,boating, wading,or float tubes either just amazed they haven't put a stop to that yet.( the fishing that is ) you have this problem where you reside ? or is it becoming a custom?

i've fished all times of day , morning,noon,dusk,and night. which time or times have you actually did better catching your targeted fish or just too fish? i do better at dusk and at night times . not that you cant catch the fish your after at morning or noon. i don't know the times you fish, but i think you get more and bigger fish also at the times i mentioned, dusk and night . what's your time pref ? or don't really have one and just go whatever time it is. your opinion, and does it play a part in your strategy for your targeted fish?

this is like frustrating a little to me as far as these bass on this pond i usually fish , i've caught bass here at this pond , sure but the bass i have caught were out in the open or along the edges , now this happens to go with the other topic i posted , good bass ,but one problem , i will get there and i'll start out with my normal routine of top water plugging the edges and the open to see what's up , so nothing's happening except in the weed bed ,where alot is of activity is , now i'll change over to a worm with a 1/8 once or 1/4 bullet head texas rigged and cast it on top of the weed bed where i'll let it sit for 15 sec, then very slowly drag it across the top and the bass will strike at it but miss , every time , any suggestions ? was thinking silver minnow / pork trailer , i've caught them before like this a while ago but's been sometime now i'll even let it fall in openings in the weed bed,where nothing is but on top across it, where it is. some above average bass in those weeds , any ideas?

this hit me as i was thinking about all the fishing shows,books,magazines,etc... but out of them , if you were choose one for a tournament who would it be and why? i'll say ron parker ,he's pretty well rounded for most fish and knows his tactics. your opinion only ,who for you ? can be past or present,

i went to a new pond and when i was reeling in after a while there a almost grey/blackish film was developing on my line , was wondering what that might be , i'll eat a few if i know the pond and all but that film has me thinking more no than yeh,as far as eating them , anyone know what that might be ? had similar foreign stuff get on your line and fish was still good to eat ? just asking , it's not oil ,sure of that.

we all use most if not all are lures in are tackle box , depending on circumstances and factors for your fishing , but did you use a lure that did more than you thought and produced well? and don't use often , kind of a not in your top lures class , but tried it and might fit in your top lures class? i know we all have go to lures and favorites. this is this year. and what lure caught your targeted fish mostly this year? and was your 2nd best lure that did just almost the same as your #1 lure this year? catching your targeted fish?

now that summer is over and falls upon us, the bite is gonna start to decrease slowly but surely , now what are your tactics and ways for the rest of the year for your fishing ? this wouldn't apply to warm climate regions , just where you'd get colder weather. finish your season ok? i think fair for me, some top water lure's and worm apps.

went to a pond and was using a top water popper , now this is one i usually use when i hit any water ,but anyway was using this popper and no result's , when i use this popper i'll throw it out let it sit for 30sec then give it a twitch where it'll make a mid plop in the water , that's the way i'll usually catch most my bass , i'm out here now at this pond about 7:00pm and start seeing bass hitting the top but not my lure , so throw it out let it sit for 30sec then give it a very light twitch and whalla, bass , i mean barely twitched it and then it was bass, where you'd think otherwise. this is after i'd say 45 min trying to figure what and how the bass want it served to them, the lightest twitch and bass , just figured different , i think if i done that , it has been a long long time

i was fishing a pond and didn't catch any bass i was out after till the last cast, i was using a top water popper, so any way i throw it out there and start to work the lure like i normally would, it sat there and a bass had hit it, now i'm thinking this is but an average size bass by the way it hit my lure, start to reel him in and seemed to be average and then started to burn off some drag, cause at first there's not much to fight but an average size bass , get him closer and he's bigger then i thought , it was 17 1/2 inch instead of the normal 15s i'm used to catching , by the way it hit and fought didn't seem like it, was like an average size bass,till midway point then poured it on. got more than i bargained for . ever happened to you ? that bass hit like a 12in, most the bass i caught hit pretty good and it usually fits their size . but the 17 just took it like a small fish but was anything but small in its size

i agree , good job taking care of it , would be dead eventually though when it hits the water i think , going across there and some bass,pike,what have you would have seen dinner above . you did it a favor.

this has to do with what time of day you hooked your pb bass, and if you would of caught it any different time, do you think it might have have been bigger or not ? taking all the other factors in account with this topic,weather, barometric pressure ,moon phase ,etc... when i caught mine it was partly cloudy / sunshine mix and about 5pm or so, give or take . but had i caught mine at like 10:30 p.m. would it have been bigger or not ? your opinion you can catch bass during all 3 times of the day ,i know this but which time of day do you see producing more and bigger fish?

this came to me, does the lure and line (size) have same effect for catching more and bigger fish ? for instance, a medium size floating minnow with 14lb test ,and will it be likely to hit that the same if you had 6lb? or does it matter? imo,i think you'd get maybe bigger but less fish , what's your opinion?
