@ Docters inlet, Big Fish around that area about Jan. thru Feb. also Redfish, crab, shrimp come into the river , it's a brackish water system I assume you know that, I use to watch the crabs and male bass guarding the nest, fight.. It's frigging Halarious ... I also fished Black Creek a lot @ green cove springs... Don't know what part of the river you are located at... I have not fished there in a few years, but I can't imagine it being much different. I caught Buku 6 & 8 pd fish at Dr's

I can tell you that... Plenty of big fish there..

Don't know how soon you are planning to go, but the area has had an enormous amount of rain over the past two weeks and the St. Johns water levels are almost to flood stage. It usually drops fairly quickly, but it may effect the fishing for awhile with all the extra runoff.

lots of shrimp +,hi water= tough sleddin on the river. most are going into crescent, down to George or locking into Rodmans if the cabbage is blowed back.It took almost 30 lbs. last sat. in the OGS classic.

I know its a bass forum, but you ever catfish in the St. John's by Monroe?  I just moved here and catfishing is my second favorite fish behind bass. I've heard Dunn's creek/St. John river is a good spot. Sometimes I just like to chuck out some cutbait, sit in a lawn chair and wait to do battle with a channel cat.

Does the water on the St Johns always have that tea or coffee color? So if the cabbage is blowed back how do you fish in rodman?

yes for the most part the st. johns is tannic stained water .access to rodman has been good .schoolers are starting to get active.3-4 #ers are common. Flipping is the best bet at a bigger sack but with the high water fish are scattered. Good days and not so good days.
