So I think I am going to pick a pack of these up, fairly simple question but do you simply tie on as normal. Then cut a new piece of line to desired length then simply slide it in to the other side (maybe tying a overhand knot at the very end).

That will get it done. Might take a look at the VMC Spinshot, they are a little cheaper and prevent line twist well.

i never used the gamakatsu but i use the vmc spinshot alot for dropshotting swimbaits and i really like them.
