Heavy Vs. Med Heavy Answered

Earlier in the year I posted this as a question. I had purchased 2 GLX  J&W rods, 804’s. I was beginning to second guess myself as to whether I should have stuck with 803‘s. After I described the lake I fish, lots of, and I do mean LOTS of laydowns, snags, brushpiles. .  You guys suggested I would be better off with the hvy.  I had never used anything past a med. hvy. Boy, were you right. Lots of big bass in my lake. I hooked MANY fish, that I know I would have never landed, had it not been for those hvy. rods. I had a better year than I would have because I heeded your advice. So, just wanted to say thanks to all you guys for your suggestions. Couldn’t have asked for a better fishing season.

Next to topwater there is nothing like pitching into a big laydown and getting into a street fight with a seven pounder...you better bring the heavy stick for that kind of fight. Congratulations on a great year. Oh and by the way I've got tackle *** of the equipment you've been buying lately. :P

Well now, that sounds like paradise to me!  I need to find that up here somewhere...

You might inspire me, *Hootie. No, not to spend more money, but to use the "H" rod I've got laying around. Actually had it out today for a lovely skunk outing.... But I've been wondering why I have that around. Caught some nice jig bass "around" not "in" heavy cover lately. Maybe I'll buy some stouter jigs and give 'er a try.

I have not regretted it. Those heavy power rods were just the ticket. Matter of fact, I just recently purchased an IMX heavy. Not the new version, one of the old ones. Yeah, there are still some out there.

Ain't nothing like moving a big fish out of his bunker with Heavy power gear!  I do so love that kind of fishing!!

But, I have a question...I thought 4 power rods were comparable to MH and 5's would be H power?   I have a GL3 that is a 4 power and I always considered it a MH.  I only have that one rod that is number rated, all my others are St. Croix.   Am I off on that thinking?
