Blade Bait Sizes

Featured Replies

What is your all around best blade bait size? I use mostly 1/2 ounce when I go down to 1/4 ounce I only seem to get perch on them. I can catch large mouth, smallmouth, crappie, pike, walleye and just about anything else that swims on a 1/2 ounce. Was wondering if going to the 1/4 ounce would help when it's really cold out. What do you guys think?

3/4 oz for me fishing deeper water 25-40 fow.

I have never fished these. (I'm admittedly a top of the water column fisherman/ 12ft and above) (strip pits 90 ft deep)..

I can see i need to learn this technique

1/2 & 3/4 with the better fish coming on the larger baits.

I like the way a 1/4oz falls.,  especially in cold  pre or post ice temps. Although the fall rate is about the same as a 1/2oz. it isn't a straight fall and I feel it gives off more flash and a little different vibration on the lift and  and unless I'm fishing water deeper than 15ft. it gets the nod.
