Anyone got any recent lake cachuma reports? Ill be going there on Thursday for a few hours. I read that December is a great time of year to be fishing at cachuma. What are some good lures to be using there right now? What is the best area of the lake to fish on the bank. I'm limited to fishing from shore. Thanks.

Went to cachuma today. Caught some smallmouth on SK 2.5s early in the morning. Got bit on gitzits as well. Fishing is tough down there.

Understand the ramp is closed, no private boats can be launched.

No, it was down another 5-6 feet since the last time I was there, a few weeks ago. I wish the lake would come up. I think it would really improve the fishing.

It makes fishing from the shore extremely difficult!;( I snag a lot more lures as well. I lost about $50 worth of crankbaits today, 2.5s, 5xds, and little johns.;( Lots of stumps and trees in the water right now. I flipped and pitched for a while too got a few bites but didn't hook up with any. Tried a FB jig for a little while too, no bites. The crankbaits were the ticket, but I lost more than the fish were worth probably!

i was with him and you can launch a boat... but you must get a quarentine at cachuma for 30 days now so hardly any one goes there...

i probably lost 30 bucks worth of lures so i really agree fishing is very difficult and not work it for the $$
