Most Abrasion Resistant Mono?

Featured Replies

Ande Tournament holds the records.  Ande mono is soft, and not very abrassion resistant.

I'm with Tom, I'd go with Ultra Green Maxima.  Saltwater jig fishing it held up the best.  Then I would say P-Line CXX and the Big Game.

I use monofilament 95% of the time & fish some of the nastiest cover you'll ever see.

Maxima Ultra Green: highest knot strength

ANDE: holds more world records, because it breaks at # test.

Berkley Big Game: highest abrasion resistance

Yes Big Game will coil, the sulation, change your line often. I pay $8 for a 1/4 spool which allows me to respool 5 calcuttas every other trip for 6-8 months.

Isn't this the truth? I change out line a lot too, a poster a couple months ago claimed I had line OCD, lol... Been a great formula for me since 85!

Berkley iron silk I think

Do you have experience w/Iron Silk?

I tried a spool of that iron silk.bought the 14lb breaking strength.it was very abrasion resistant but terribly stretchy& snapped like crazy even when tying palomar knots(yes I moisten them)don't know what caused it but snapped off multiple t'rigs&spinnerbaits when setting the hook.thats the only time it would snap too is when I set the hook. i'd go trilene xl armor coated or big game.
