Gotta love a topwater bite from a northern. Unfortunately a lot of them end with line just flying back at you as they have razor sharp teeth.

I agree with that one. When fishing for northerns topwater, I like to use rapala poppers with a steal leader - only way to ensure it doesn't get bit through.

Pretty much. I used to use them all the time as a little kid, but now I just take my chances since the cheap leaders I was buying started breaking before my line despite being rated at twice the strength and new. lol

cool!

If something like that doesnt get your heart going, you better grt to a doctor!!! Wow.

Woah!  That was awesome!!!!!  I once had a pike sail over the bow of my boat.  It cleared the water by a good 2 feet. Wished I'd gotten that on film.

That thing looked like it was shot out of a cannon!  Too cool.

Northerns are built long and sleek, like a rail dragster.  They can accelerate like one, too.  :-)

Tight lines,

That's amazing to see how he ate it head first so quickly. He hit it at an angle from the side too. Shows how precise fish are!

are you sure thats a pike? looks more like a dolphin to me!

That is amazing. If you don't have a healthy heart, don't go topwater fishing.

Crazy!!

Wow, he came out of nowhere!
