I know this 100$ dollar rod topic keeps resurfacing but I would still like to know which is a better buy.  Thanks so much for all your input.

I'd buy the carbonlite. They are on sale for $70

I have had both. I prefer the carbonlite.

Carbonlite.  It's a great rod for the money.

Carbonlite for sure. I have one of the newer white one and it's an awesome rod. I also had one of the older model black ones and it was an awesome rod as well, it is a steal at the $70 price point

I'll be the odd man out and say falcon. Simply because it out performs the carbonlite IMO.

The kicker is if the carbonlite breaks, you walk in and out of bps with a new one in 15 minutes.

Falcon breaks and you have to send it in and usually a few week turn around. I had a month turn around once on a 6'10" mh bucoo, but they had just had the falcon tourney, and was out of stock. They sent me 2 6'6" mh bucoos with rod socks for my wait.

For Casting I'd definitely go with the bucoo. For spinning I'd pick the carbonlite because for some odd reason falcon decided not to make a medium power fast action bucoo spinning rod.

Falcon... It's a USA rod. 95% of all my rods are American made. I do believe they are slightly over- rated in power & action, but as long as you know that beforehand it's not a problem, unless you have major ocd..

I've considered the Bucoo several times, but after hands

on, each time, it felt heavier in the tip. For me that's a 

dealbreaker.

So my vote goes to Carbonlite.

I'm going to go with the Falcon Bucco.  Sorry, love the Carbonlite reels (black ones), not a fan of the rod.  Don't like the handle lenght, don't like the rounded butt cap.  Just don't like them. My opinion.  Like the way the Bucco's feel, although all of mine are the micro's.  Have 2 7ft M casting, 2 7ft MH casting, 1 7'3"H casting and love the action (although it's a mod action) on the 7ft M spinning rod. Now I'm finding myself torn between the Bucco's and the Black Omens, so figure the micro rods will be Bucco's, and the others will be Omens.  

 

So for the OP, I'm going Falcon Bucco.

I have a carbonlite 7' MH that I love, gets a lot of use and handles everything I throw at it. I never tried the bucco but have held it and seems like a nice rod as well, would like to try one.

Which model? I'm pretty sure every rod in that Bucoo line is under 4oz and of all the rods I own that are under 4oz, there isn't any that are close to being tip heavy. As for which one to get, it all depends on what you want, you have more selection with the Falcon but a lot of those rods are moderate and moderate fast with a few fast action rods. Look to see which one has a model you would want and go from there but I'll tell you this, if weight is a factor then the Falcon is going to be better as those are lighter than the Carbonlite.

I have a bucco but it is a micro. I wouldn't say it is tip heavy at all. It's a super light rod and has a pretty good crisp feeling to it. I don't everuse it but I am sure it's not bad.
