Ultralight Basser

Featured Replies

I just thought of something.... What ever happened to mrultralight? Or was is mrlighttackle? He always posted some good sized fish he caught on light power bps rods.

FishChris too... He was featured in a Catfish In-sider Magazine for his ultralight techniques.

Nope, but I have heard of guys fishing for bass with a very light setup with 4-pound test using a small spinning reel and a short ultra light spinning rod.

I use my ultra lights for bream and crappie.

You can use the setup with 4-pound test and do well.

Give it a shot and let us know what happens.

Happy New Year!

Since I fish local waters I do use the U L almost all the time from a river bank.  Some of the =15 POUND CARP & CHANNEL cat have opened up a fishing tackle shop with my lost struff

I have always done 6lb but next season will be my first trying 4lb line for bass.   Will  target smallies primarily but LM also.  It's just a fun thing to do.  I'm getting a custom rod built for a Daiwa Presso that I just got specifically for use of 4lb line.
